Dr. Chow is one of only 10 surgeons in the world — and the only surgeon in Arizona — to routinely perform the SuperPATH tissue-preserving hip replacement surgery procedure. Using cutting-edge technology with advanced surgical techniques, Dr. Chow can administer a total hip replacement without damaging muscles or tendons, or dislocating the hip during surgery. With minimal postoperative limitations, patients recover from surgery much more rapidly than traditional hip replacement and other minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Chow has been heavily involved in the overall development of the SuperPATH procedure, which combines two tissue-sparing techniques, PATH and SUPERCAP™, for minimally invasive total hip arthroplasty. He has successfully performed more than 550 SuperPATH procedures, and is helping to train other physicians on this hybrid micro-superior technique. He has published his experiences using this technique, and continues to present his findings internationally.
Dr. Chow is also the first surgeon in Arizona to offer the state-of-the-art partial knee resurfacing procedure, MAKOplasty. For patients suffering from knee osteoarthritis or degenerative knee conditions, MAKOplasty helps relieve associated knee pain and restore knee function.
